About the Brass Band

It was the film "LES VIRTUOSES" that successfully popularized the Brass Band, a musical formation originating in Great Britain, composed exclusively of brass and percussion instruments. The ensemble's composition provides "a homogeneous, velvety sound, capable of reproducing a variety of nuances thought only string orchestras were capable of".
Under the impetus of René Gilles ROUSSELOT, Paul MILLISCHER, Sylvain PICARD and Jean-Guy Olive, its conductor, the BRASS BAND DE TOULOUSE began its history in 2005.
The 30-strong group is made up of musicians from the Orchestre du Capitole, amateur musicians and teachers from the Toulouse Conservatoire and the Ecoles de Musique d'Occitanie. These dedicated musicians devote all their energy, passion and talent to this musical adventure.
Gathered in the "Comm'un accord" Association, the musicians of the Toulouse Brass Band perform throughout the Occitanie region and beyond. Alsace and
Périgord. It has taken part in the closing ceremony of the Toulouse les Orgues Festival, the Social Film Festival in Narbonne, the Automne Musical en Vallespir and recently the "Duchâbleries", accompanying François René DUCHÂBLE in George Gershwin's famous Rhapsody in Blue.
Since its creation, the Brass Band de Toulouse has tackled all types of repertoire: symphonic transcriptions, film music, original pieces and creations.
It has won two prizes for its participation in the Amiens and Lille National Competitions.
